A leading financial services organisation based in Dublin 1 is seeking an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join its Finance team on an 18-month fixed term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment supporting the finance operations of large-scale investment and sovereign-style funds. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of investment structures and financial products while contributing to the continuous improvement of finance processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer loans, including reviewing facility agreements, calculating interest and repayments.
- Review partnership agreements and interpret reporting and structural requirements.
- Process and review capital calls, distributions, and investment allocations.
- Prepare and review accounting journals and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy of investment records.
- Support year-end valuations and financial reporting processes.
- Liaise with internal teams, fund managers, investees, auditors, and tax advisors.
- Review management and custodian fees, and ensure compliance with internal procedures.
- Mentor junior accountants and contribute to workflow and system enhancements.
Experience & Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience desirable.
- Third-level qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in fund accounting, ideally with exposure to private market products.
- Strong understanding of investment accounting, including unquoted investments and loans.
- Experience with portfolio management systems and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of general ledger systems (e.g., Infor SunSystems) advantageous.
