Location: Dublin 2, Dublin with occasional travel to other sites
Contract: 9-12 month fixed-term contract
Working Model: Hybrid – 2 days in office, 3 days from home
Hours / Leave: 41.25 hours per week (35 hours net of breaks) | 30 days annual leave plus public holidays
Salary: €82,290 fixed p.a.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline, who has delivered large-scale projects and is looking to transition into the public energy and sustainability sector.
We are partnering with a public sector organisation to appoint a Project Manager / Transition Manager to join its Corporate Services team. This is a high-impact appointment responsible for leading a complex, end-to-end service transition project, ensuring operational continuity, governance compliance, and delivery to agreed quality and performance standards.
The successful candidate will drive structured project planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement across outgoing and incoming service providers and internal teams to deliver a seamless transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle delivery of a major service transition project
- Develop and manage detailed project plans covering scope, milestones, schedules, and resource allocation
- Monitor progress, manage change controls, and ensure delivery against defined KPIs
- Ensure adherence to organisational governance frameworks and project management standards
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including risk registers and status reports
- Prepare briefings and progress updates for steering committees and senior stakeholders
- Build and manage effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Act as the primary point of contact for project communications, including risks and dependencies
- Facilitate workshops, working groups, and project meetings
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues throughout the lifecycle
- Ensure all deliverables meet agreed quality standards
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives
Essential Requirements
- Degree qualification (minimum NFQ Level 7) in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum two years’ experience managing large-scale projects of comparable scope and complexity
- Demonstrated experience working within multi-disciplinary teams and leading change initiatives
- Strong knowledge of recognised project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile)
- Proficiency in project management tools, including MS Project
- Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver within tight deadlines
Desirable Requirements
- Experience delivering or supporting strong customer experience initiatives
- Exposure to complex organisational transitions or large-scale service change programmes
