Programme Executive – Energy & Sustainability (Public Sector)

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role supporting public bodies to enhance infrastructure, reduce emissions, and help achieve national and EU sustainability targets.
Location: Dublin, Cork, Dundalk, or Sligo
Contract: 18 months, full-time
Hybrid: 2 days on site
Hours / Annual Leave: 35-hour week with 29 days annual leave
Salary: €52,026 p.a. (fixed, non-negotiable)
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership in monitoring and tracking the progress of high-impact energy projects from concept through to completion.
- Evaluate project outcomes, ensuring quality, compliance, and measurable sustainability improvements.
- Collect, analyse, and report on project performance to demonstrate real-world impact.
- Prepare engaging reports, data insights, and presentations highlighting programme success.
- Assist with procurement and management of technical resources in line with public procurement guidelines.
- Create compelling communications – including web content, case studies, and webinars – to share success stories and best practices.
- Represent the organisation at meetings, site visits, and public events, acting as an ambassador for sustainability.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues and external stakeholders to deliver innovative, high-quality results.
About You – Essential Requirements
- A degree (NFQ Level 7 or higher) in a relevant technical discipline such as Engineering, Science, or Building Services.
- At least three years’ experience in a related role or sector (postgraduate studies may be considered).
- A strong understanding of energy efficiency, sustainability, or energy management in public, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Proven track record managing projects and working effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information.
- Strong IT proficiency and data analysis skills.
Desirable
- Qualification in Project Management.
- Knowledge of energy-related directives and standards (e.g. Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, Irish Building Regulations).
- Experience in energy decarbonisation, measurement & verification, or cost management.
- A passion for delivering outstanding stakeholder engagement and project outcomes.
