Finance Manager
Permanent | South Dublin | Hybrid Working
A leading education body based in South Dublin is seeking a commercially minded and hands-on Finance Manager to join its finance team. This is a key role offering strong exposure across both operational finance and strategic decision-making.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will play a central role in financial reporting, budgeting, and business partnering, while also overseeing day-to-day finance operations and managing a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts with insightful variance analysis
- Oversight of month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
- Management of payroll process in conjunction with external providers
- Responsibility for VAT returns and compliance
- Support the annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting process
- Preparation of cash flow forecasts and ongoing monitoring
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support financial decision-making
- Lead and develop the Accounts Assistant, overseeing AP/AR and transactional finance
- Support year-end audit and statutory reporting process
- Drive process improvements and support finance systems enhancements
About You:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong experience in management accounting and financial reporting
- Previous experience managing or mentoring team members
- Experience with payroll and VAT in an Irish environment
- Strong systems skills (ERP experience desirable, e.g. Business Central)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Commercially aware with strong business partnering ability
- Proactive, organised, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
