This leading Professional Educational Body in Dublin 2 are currently recruiting a Finance Director to join their organisation.

Working alongside the Chief Operations Officer the Finance Director will be an experienced Accountant working hands on with the company finances, be commercially aware and advising on the best path of growth for the business.

The Director of Finance has overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of company strategy and is expected to analyse figures and implement recommendations based on these findings with the most profitable outcomes.

  • Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.
  • Coordinate, analyse and report the financial performance, projections and any special projects as required to the Board of Directors
  • Prepare short- and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management.
  • Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with external auditors and review performance.
  • Develop, implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures to include financial accounting and reporting, employee relations and other corporate policies.
  • Responsible for all corporate and human resource activities including employee benefits, retirement plans, corporate insurance and related activities.
  • Responsible for monitoring all legislation relevant to the organisation.
  • Lead his/her team through pressurised periods to include month end, year end and annual budgeting.
  • Work with the Senior Management team to grow the businesses formulating strategies and plans.
  • Lead and manage the budgeting process and present to Finance Committee and Board of Directors
  • Responsible for overall cash management on an ongoing basis
  • Responsible for control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including audit systems.
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of monthly updates
  • Responsible for the presentation of annual accounts with recommendations to the Audit Committee
  • Responsible for the review of monthly and quarterly accounts and investigation of variances, then setting recovery plans
  • Responsible for Treasury matters working closely with the Finance Committee
  • Responsible for the evaluation and preparation of submissions for Capital Expenditure
  • Working with the Audit Committee lead the risk management strategy.
  • Responsible for setting annual cost rates and prices for business suppliers.
  • Lead and manage commercial negotiations with customers.

OPERATIONAL / FUNCTIONAL

  • Attendance and financial reporting at Board of Directors meetings
  • Organising, attendance and reporting at Finance Committee meetings
  • Organising, attendance and reporting at Audit Committee Meetings
  • Attendance at Annual General Meetings/Extraordinary General Meetings

Essential Requirements:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant with all levels of experience as outlined above.
  • Excellent commercial and business experience
  • Exceptional communication skills at all levels
  • Strong IT skills are essential and a belief in the requirement for continual process improvement.
  • Good team player, able to establish working relationships across a wide range of people.
  • Experience in delivering under pressure, on budget and within timescales.
  • A personal strength to get the job done and an appreciation for detail.
  • Reviewing business performance against target, offering and implementing change, if necessary, to deliver business objectives

This is a full time, permanent and hybrid working role. Salary €95,000-€105,000 plus hols and bens package.
