Business Development Executive – MedTech (Government Body) - Hybrid

Salary: €52,546 (fixed, non-negotiable)

A reputable government body is seeking a Business Development Executive - MedTech to join its Life Sciences division in Athlone. This is a strategic, client-facing role focused on supporting investment, innovation, and sectoral growth across a high-value MedTech portfolio.
The role sits within a dynamic regional team working closely with both multinational organisations and indigenous enterprises to support long-term investment, transformation, and job creation in the sector.
You will support with:
- Driving engagement across a portfolio of MedTech clients to identify opportunities for expansion, transformation, RD&I, sustainability, and workforce development initiatives
- Coordinating and supporting international investment activity, including site visits, stakeholder engagement, and follow-up relationship management
- Contributing to the preparation, evaluation, and presentation of investment proposals through internal governance and approval structures
- Working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver client transformation programmes and targeted sector initiatives
- Developing and maintaining accurate pipeline information using CRM systems (Salesforce), ensuring high-quality reporting and tracking
- Supporting the creation and refinement of sector strategies, value propositions, and target opportunity lists for priority sub-sectors
- Assisting in the preparation of briefing materials, updates, and reporting for internal committees and senior stakeholders
- Gathering, analysing, and sharing relevant market and sector intelligence to support strategic planning and decision-making
- Representing the organisation at industry events, conferences, and networking engagements as required
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and progress a defined portfolio of client relationships and development opportunities
- Support the delivery of investment, expansion, and transformation projects across the MedTech sector
- Prepare and present business cases and investment proposals for internal approval processes
- Ensure consistent pipeline management and accurate tracking of all client and opportunity activity
- Collaborate across internal teams to support the delivery of strategic sector objectives
- Contribute to the development of marketing content, messaging, and sector positioning materials
- Support the implementation of client development programmes and regional initiatives
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across internal and external partners
Essential Requirements:
- Third-level qualification (minimum Level 8)
- Proven experience in client engagement, business development, project delivery, or stakeholder management
- Strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively on own initiative
- Full clean driving licence
- Flexibility to travel and work outside standard office hours when required
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience within MedTech, life sciences, economic development, consultancy, or a related environment
- Strong understanding of commercial drivers, investment processes, or business growth frameworks
- Experience using CRM systems, ideally Salesforce
- Background in programme coordination, strategic projects, or client advisory roles
- Interest in international business and sectoral development
