A leading Financial Services organisation is seeking an ambitious finance professional to join its Finance Fund Operations team as an Assistant Finance Manager (Fund Accounting) on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this role offers excellent exposure across complex investment portfolios and fund structures within a high-performing finance environment. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to further develop their leadership skills while working across both public and private market investments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of finance professionals
- Review daily and monthly management reporting
- Oversee investment accounting and administration activities, ensuring accuracy and timely settlement
- Review reconciliations between investment manager and Global Custodian records
- Support oversight of the Global Custodian, including KPI reviews and service meetings
- Analyse complex investment products across custody and accounting processes
- Prepare market opening packs and withholding tax reclaim applications
- Liaise with external tax advisors regarding compliance and filings
- Assist with quarterly valuation reporting and year-end audit processes
- Maintain and enhance finance procedures, controls, and documentation
- Partner closely with Financial Reporting teams, investment teams, and project stakeholders
About You Experience & Qualifications:
- Third-level qualification in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) desirable
- Minimum 5 years’ Fund Accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of Hedge Funds and Private Market products
- Experience managing and developing team members
- Exposure to system implementations or transformation projects advantageous
Skills & Technical Knowledge:
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills
- Experience across a range of investment products including equities, bonds, loans, derivatives, and funds
- Knowledge of Custodian oversight and portfolio management systems advantageous
- Understanding of finance controls, governance, and process improvement initiatives
