Library Assistant (12 month contract)

Overview: The Library & Information Unit is one of the Firm’s core business support functions.  The team is responsible for the delivery of a wide range of services including providing detailed research support to fee-earners using both digital and traditional methods; co-ordinating and facilitating the publication of the Firm’s internal and client bulletins and maintaining the library’s collection of resources.

Role: To provide library services to fee-earners in one of Ireland’s leading corporate law firms

Hours of Work:  9.00am – 5.30pm

Reporting to: Head of Library and Information Services

Tasks include: Answering enquiries, current awareness, book circulation including the creation of reports and statistical data; management of Journals, starters and leavers process, metrics reports as well as other tasks as defined from time to time.

Skills and experience required

  • Minimum 2 years’ library experience
  • Experience of working in a legal library
  • Knowledge of legal databases
  • Experience using Library management systems
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills and demonstrable ability to plan, prioritise, manage time and multiple priorities in order to meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have Initiative, enthusiasm, flexibility and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines,
  • Able to work productively both individually and as a team member
  • A proactive and positive approach with analytical and problem solving skills
