We are seeking a Solicitor or Barrister with 3 years PQE preferably with Advocacy, litigation or regulation experience and a thorough knowledge of administrative, constitutional law and Judicial Review.
Reporting to the Head of Fitness to Practise and Legal Affairs, the Appeals & Policy Manager will be responsible for managing the Appeals unit within this regulatory body located in Dublin 7.
This is a permanent, fulltime job.
Salary for this position will be paid on the Civil Service Higher Executive Officer scale €48,028 to €60,486 (12 point scale & 2 long service increment). The successful applicant will be appointed on the first point of the scale unless they have previous experience in a comparable role within the public or civil service.
The role is pensionable and carries 29 annual leave days. There is a flexitime policy which allows staff to work up additional 19 days leave.
37 hour week Monday Friday.
Join a team of 11 where you will have two direct administrative reports.
The unit is responsible for progressing appeals arising from decisions of Registration Boards in relation to Recognition and Registration applications. An Appeals Committee conducts appeal hearings.
The person will also be responsible for overseeing the provision of training to the various Disciplinary Committees and overseeing policy matters as they arise. This may involve research and presentation of papers before a Committee.
