Credit Control Specialist - Public Sector

At Lex Consultancy we have a super opportunity available for an experienced Credit Control Specialist to join the finance team of a busy Public Sector body for a 6 month contract position.

Reporting to the Customer Accounts Manager and working as part of supporting finance team, this position will hold the following responsibilities:

  • Setting up new accounts
  • Monitoring customers to ensure they operate within agreed payment terms
  • Regular contact to establish payment dates and pursue debts until resolution is secured
  • Management and resolution of queries from customer and cross functional areas
  • Reporting of weekly account status to Manager
  • Credit history check on new business
  • Following up with companies from a list of targeted companies in reducing aged debtors
  • Liaise with administrators in accounts to recover outstanding amounts owed
  • Communicate with companies who have outstanding balances on their accounts
  • Investigating previous order history and credits due

Interested applicants will meet the following requirements:

  • 2-3 years experience The ability to work competently with a high workload
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communicative skills both written and verbal
  • Having a willingness to learn and being team oriented
  • Sound negotiation & reconciliation skills
  • Ability to meet tight reporting deadlines
